From Hand to Heart was the title of my major project on the Graduate Diploma in Design for Visual Communication. It was an investigation into how the use of hand-drawn letter-forms can affect the emotional response of the reader to the written word. This consisted of various investigations of emotive typography, the relation of colour to emotion and how these factors can be combines to emotionally manipulate the reader.
The final deign outcome was an unbound, large-format publication where the pages could be removed and swapped around to create juxtapositions of text and imagery: allowing the reader to draw their own emotional readings from them.
